The Serpent comes on strong with a blast of oud, less refined than Gucci's Voice of the Snake. It's not barnyard oud, thankfully, but a slightly synthetic woodiness dominates initially. The patchouli in the heart emerges quickly, adding a grounding earthiness, but again, lacks the smoothness of the inspiration. The saffron in the base attempts to add warmth, but struggles against the assertive oud. I’d say it captures around 87% of the original’s character. The key difference? Voice of the Snake whispers luxury; The Serpent shouts "budget oud."

To Buy or Not to Buy?

(typically under $30), The Serpent is a serviceable oud/patchouli fragrance. It’s a decent alternative if you crave the Voice of the Snake vibe but can't stomach the Gucci price tag.

The Performance Stats

This stuff projects. Easily fills a room for the first hour. Longevity is decent, sticking around for a solid 6-7 hours as a skin scent. Don't overspray; it's potent. You have been warned.
