The Verdict

This is for the young man who frequents sports bars, projecting an image of carefree confidence that might be slightly exaggerated. He aspires to be the life of the party but often overshoots the mark. Picture a college student who uses hair gel liberally, hits the gym sporadically, and considers Axe body spray an acceptable substitute for showering after a workout. Victorioso Legend attempts to capture a winning aura, but ultimately lacks the finesse to pull it off convincingly.

Notes & Nuances

Victorioso Legend opens with a bracing marine accord, but instead of clean ocean air, imagine standing on a pier where a fishing boat just unloaded its catch. The sea salt note is prominent, edging towards overbearing, joined by a grapefruit that leans more into its bitter pith than its juicy sweetness. As it settles, the bay leaf emerges, creating a slightly medicinal camphoraceous coolness against the initial blast. The spices are a blurry amalgamation, lacking definition; they add warmth but nothing distinct. The base is where it deviates most significantly. Gone is any true amber depth; instead, there's a slightly acrid red amber that recalls the aroma of cheap incense sticks mingling with a plasticky guaiac wood trying very hard to project sophistication.

Wear time & Sillage

On my skin, Victorioso Legend lasts approximately six hours. For the first two hours, the projection is noticeable, extending about an arm's length. After that, it quickly becomes a skin scent, clinging close and requiring someone to be in your personal space to detect it. I wore it during a moderately active day of errands and found it faded considerably by the afternoon.
