To Buy or Not to Buy?
Victorioso Victory Elixir is a decent effort, capturing the main facets of Invictus Victory Elixir . The synthetic edges are noticeable, especially in the vanilla and sandalwood, but the overall composition is wearable. If you're seeking a near-identical match, you'll be disappointed. If, however, you want a reasonably close approximation for daily wear and are price-conscious, this is a solid choice. The original offers superior ingredient quality and depth, but whether that justifies a tenfold price increase is a matter of personal preference. Recommended for those on a budget looking for a sweet, spicy, and slightly smoky scent profile.
Notes & Nuances
Victorioso Victory Elixir opens with a sharp lemon, immediately followed by a noticeable incense accord. The black pepper is present, lending a spicy lift, but the lemon and incense dominate early. Compared to Invictus Victory Elixir, the opening is about 95% similar; the original has a smoother, less acidic lemon. The heart reveals a creamy lavender smoothed by vanilla. I detect a slight synthetic vanilla note here, a clear departure point from the original's richer, more natural vanilla. The base is a familiar blend of tonka bean, patchouli, and sandalwood. The sandalwood is rather muted, overshadowed by the tonka. The drydown is where this clone diverges most, perhaps 95% similar. The original has a greater woody depth and complexity.
How Long Does it Last?
Longevity is acceptable. I got about 6-7 hours on skin with moderate projection for the first 2 hours, settling into a skin scent thereafter. On fabric, expect 8+ hours. Projection is good, but not beastly.
