Final Thoughts
A solid clone. If you enjoy Bergamote 22 but are deterred by the price tag, this is a worthwhile alternative. The slightly synthetic opening and increased vanilla presence are the main deviations. For those on a budget, Bergamot 22 by Montagne Parfums offers a very good imitation . Recommended for casual wear, particularly in warmer weather.
The Scent Profile
Bergamot 22 by Montagne Parfums offers a respectable rendition of the Le Labo original. The opening is a bright, citrus-forward experience. Bergamot and grapefruit are immediately apparent. Petitgrain adds a slight green, slightly bitter counterpoint. However, the citrus lacks some of the natural effervescence found in Bergamote 22; there's a slightly synthetic edge here. The heart brings in the vetiver, a key component of the original. Cedar is present, providing a woody backbone. Montagne's version is drier, the vetiver less smoothly integrated. The base is a blend of musk, amber, and vanilla. The vanilla is more pronounced in this clone than in Le Labo's, adding a touch of sweetness that wasn't originally there. Overall, it captures approximately 95% of the original scent profile.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is moderate. I get around 5-6 hours on skin, with moderate projection for the first hour. It quickly settles into a skin scent. Considering the price point, the performance is acceptable. Don't expect beast mode.
