Chilly Pacific opens with a sun-drenched citrus accord, but the orange veers towards candied peel rather than fresh juice. The lemon offers a fleeting sharpness, quickly overtaken by a pulpy apricot note in the heart. This apricot is the star, fleshy and ripe, balanced by the herbal, almost grassy basil. The carrot seed adds an earthy dimension, a subtle vegetal whisper. The drydown is where the similarity diverges; the dates introduce a cloying sweetness, less airy than the original. There's a slight plasticky edge in the final moments, a synthetic ambrette mimicking skin musk but falling short.

Longevity sits at a respectable six hours, projecting within an arm's reach for the initial two. I tested it during a humid afternoon walk; the citrus cut through the stickiness, but the date note amplified in the heat. It's best suited for moderate climates.

Is it Worth It?

Wearing this evokes a relaxed afternoon by the pool, albeit one with a slightly synthetic suntan lotion aroma. It captures a similar vacation vibe to the inspiration, but loses some of the effortless sophistication. You gain a bold, fruity sweetness, but sacrifice the airy freshness that defines the original.
