Olfactory Experience
Cubicle for Men opens with a blast of bright, almost aggressively synthetic ambroxan. Bergamot chimes in, but it's fleeting. There's a vague orris powderiness attempting to soften the edges, but initially, it smells... cheap. This is where it noticeably differs from the original Office for Men, which has a smoother, more refined opening. As it settles, some pleasant woody notes emerge, along with a whisper of nondescript floral. The drydown is where Cubicle for Men finds its footing. It's a musky, slightly patchouli-tinged wood scent, surprisingly agreeable and less synthetic. Overall, I'd say it captures about 95% of the Office for Men DNA, sacrificing some initial refinement for a significantly lower price point.
The Performance Stats
The projection is moderate for the first hour, leaving a noticeable scent trail. After that, it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is respectable; I get a solid 6-7 hours before it fades into a skin scent. Not beast mode, but definitely office-appropriate. If you can get past the slightly harsh opening, you'll find a pleasant, versatile fragrance perfect for daily wear. This clone gets the job done without breaking the bank. If you want to smell good on a budget, pull the trigger.
