Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
The Verdict
It captures the essence of the original . It’s a fantastic daily driver for the office or casual outings. It's mass appealing and inoffensive. This clone gets you close enough for daily wear, leaving you with cash to explore other scents. It’s a safe blind buy if you know you like the original.
Notes & Nuances
Eau Bergamote nails the Bergamote 22 vibe pretty closely. The opening is a bright, juicy grapefruit and bergamot bomb. It's zingy and fresh, just like the original. However, it's a touch sharper, maybe a little more synthetic in the initial blast. The heart of vetiver and cedar emerges quickly, offering a green, slightly woody backbone. I'd say it's about 95% similar to Le Labo's creation. The drydown is where it deviates a bit. The musk and amber are more pronounced here, giving it a slightly sweeter, less earthy finish.
Longevity & Projection
Projection is moderate for the first hour, creating a nice scent bubble. It settles closer to the skin after that. Longevity is decent, I get about 5-6 hours on my skin. Not beast mode, but respectable for a fresh fragrance. Reapplication is an option if you want it going all day.
