First Impressions & Dry Down
Irish Verbena opens bright, a definite blast of lemon verbena. It’s quite similar to Green Irish Tweed, maybe 95% there, but lacks that initial silvery, almost metallic edge of the Creed. The iris and violet leaf provide a green, grassy feeling, which is very pleasant. Montagne's version leans a little more soapy in the mid. The drydown is where it differs most. Instead of a smooth ambergris, it's a more synthetic sandalwood accord. It doesn't smell bad, but it lacks the depth and natural muskiness of the original.
Final Thoughts
Irish Verbena is a very good alternative to Green Irish Tweed, especially considering the price difference. It's a no-brainer for daily wear. If you want that last 95% of refinement and natural ingredients, then maybe. But for a fresh, clean, and professional scent that you can spray liberally without breaking the bank, Irish Verbena is a great pick. Perfect for anyone seeking a versatile, green fragrance on a budget.
Projection Power
Longevity is decent. I get a solid 6-7 hours on my skin. Projection is moderate; noticeable for the first couple of hours then it settles closer to the skin. Perfect for the office. It won't offend.
