London by Montagne nails the Widian DNA pretty well, I'd say 85-95% there. The opening blasts off with that characteristic medicinal oud, softened by violet. The cypress adds a green, slightly bitter edge that keeps it from being too sweet. The raspberry in the heart is noticeable, but it's not overly fruity or jammy. More like a tart counterpoint. The drydown is where it differs slightly from the original. It's a bit heavier on the vanilla and amber, making it sweeter and less nuanced than the Widian. There's a synthetic leather note, but it's not overpowering.

The Performance Stats

Longevity is solid. I get a good 7-8 hours on my skin. Projection is moderate for the first two hours, then it settles closer to the skin. It's noticeable, but not a room filler. Not beast mode, but respectable.

Is it Worth It?

It captures the essence of the original . Yes, there's a slight synthetic edge, especially in the drydown, but it's not a deal-breaker. This is a sophisticated scent that's best suited for cooler weather or evening wear. I'd say it's a great daily driver for the office or a night out. Skip the original.
