Rich Bois opens with a sparkling citrus cocktail, heavy on the tangerine peel and slightly bitter grapefruit pith, not unlike sunshine filtered through antique glass. The rose at its heart is dark, jammy, almost candied, like rose Turkish delight left a day too long in the sun. Black currant adds a tart, wine-like depth, hinting at aged burgundy. The base is where it shifts; the patchouli is earthy and dominant, bordering on medicinal, eclipsing the sandalwood. Instead of a creamy vanilla, it presents a drier, more woody vanilla pod impression. It lacks the luxurious cashmere feel present in its inspiration, leaning instead into an intense, slightly harsh woodiness.

Longevity & Projection

I got a solid 7 hours of wear, projecting strongly for the first two arm's length and then settling closer to the skin. I wore it during a rainy gallery opening, and the damp air seemed to amplify the earthy patchouli. I tested it again in a dry, controlled environment, and the citrus faded within the first hour, leaving a somewhat unbalanced patchouli and rose duet.
