Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
If this scent were a character in a movie, it would be a background character in a heist film - trying desperately to appear sophisticated, but ultimately revealed as a cheap imitation.
First Impressions & Dry Down
Tribeca Impression opens with a surprisingly muted cacao. It's more "chocolate-adjacent" than rich cocoa butter, tempered by a hazelnut note that leans towards artificial flavoring, like the kind you find in discount coffee syrups. The jasmine sambac in the heart struggles to emerge, overpowered by a cedar note that smells distinctly like pencil shavings. The base is where things truly diverge. Instead of a smooth, luxurious caramel, there's a burnt sugar quality, and the ambroxan is dialed up to eleven, lending a harsh, scratchy feeling that lingers uncomfortably. The moss is barely detectable, lost in the synthetic haze. It mimics the general idea of Tribeca, but lacks the refinement and depth.
The Performance Stats
Longevity is moderate, clocking in around 5-6 hours. Projection is initially strong, projecting about an arm's length, but quickly settles closer to the skin after the first hour. I wore it to the grocery store, and it faded into a faint sweetness by the time I reached the checkout.
