Tygr shines as a versatile daily wear. Its initial vibrancy makes it suitable for daytime activities like running errands or casual outings. The amberwood and hint of leather in the drydown lend it just enough sophistication to transition into evening scenarios, such as a casual dinner or drinks with friends. This would be a fantastic choice for someone seeking a reliable, long-lasting scent that works across different settings without being too demanding or pretentious.

How it Smells

Tygr by Montagne Parfums opens with a blast of juicy, but somewhat artificial, grapefruit – picture grapefruit soda that’s been sitting out in the sun too long. The mandarin adds a touch of sweetness, but it’s a candied sweetness, not fresh fruit. The heart is where things get interesting. The galbanum brings a green, slightly bitter edge that saves it from being overly saccharine. I don't get much ambrette. As it dries, the amberwood becomes dominant, giving a woody amber that's smooth but also slightly scratchy. The leather is subtle, more like the suggestion of leather upholstery than a distinct leather note. It differs from the original in its opening, which feels less photorealistic grapefruit and more concentrated.

Longevity & Projection

On my skin, Tygr lasts a solid 7-8 hours. It projects strongly for the first 2-3 hours, easily filling a room within one arm's length. After that, it settles into a more intimate scent bubble, detectable within a closer proximity. I wore it during a busy workday, including an hour-long commute and several meetings. It held up well, projecting confidence without being overwhelming.
