Pride Pour Homme opens with a bold cinnamon note, quite similar to Wanted by Night. The mandarin and lavender add a fleeting freshness, though they lean slightly synthetic compared to the original's smoother citrus blend. The heart reveals the fruity accord – apple prominent to my nose - paired with incense. This is where it diverges; Azzaro's heart is spicier and less overtly fruity. Rue Broca’s version has a candy sweetness that is not as refined. The cedar is present but takes a back seat. The drydown aims for the tobacco and vanilla base, and it gets reasonably close. The tobacco lacks the depth and realism of the original. Instead, it's a sweeter, more simplistic interpretation. Overall, it mimics about 75% of Wanted by Night. The missing 75% is mainly in the quality and complexity of the ingredients.

Wear time & Sillage

Projection is initially strong, filling a room for the first hour. After that, it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is decent, clocking in at around 5-6 hours. It is a noticeable decrease from the performance of Wanted by Night.

The Verdict

Pride Pour Homme is a respectable clone if you want the basic experience of Wanted by Night without paying premium prices. The slightly synthetic facets are noticeable, but it is quite acceptable. If you want the deeper, richer experience, Azzaro's original is still superior and worth the extra cost, but this is a very valid budget alternative. Good for casual wear and cooler weather.
