Olfactory Experience
Khafaya Blue definitely smells like Sauvage Elixir. It's about 80% there. The initial blast is heavy on the spices – nutmeg and cardamom take center stage. You get a hint of cinnamon, but it's not overpowering. The lavender in the heart is present, but a bit more subdued than in the Dior. The base is where it differs most. The licorice is prominent, almost too much, giving it a slightly synthetic edge compared to the smoother, richer dry down of Elixir. It’s a little rough around the edges, but recognizably inspired by its muse.
The Verdict
It captures the essence of the original . Is it a perfect dupe? No. It has a slightly synthetic vibe, especially in the base. But it's a great daily driver for cooler weather. Wear it to the office (with a light hand), date nights, or anytime you want a bold, masculine scent. It's a mature fragrance, so probably not for younger guys. The original is undoubtedly smoother and higher quality, but is it ten times better? Probably not.
Longevity & Projection
This stuff lasts. Expect 8+ hours easily, maybe even 10. Projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours, then it settles into a respectable scent bubble. Be mindful of your sprays; this isn't a subtle fragrance. Two sprays are enough. Any more, and you risk choking out yourself and those around you.
