The Scent Profile
Oud is Great throws a heavy saffron and nutmeg punch right up front. It's similar to Oud for Greatness, maybe 89% there. The lavender is dialed down, making the opening a tad harsher, less refined. The real Oud is present in the heart, but it's clearly synthetic. Not offensively so, but you can tell the difference if you're familiar with the Initio. The drydown is where it shines. The patchouli and musk create a warm, comforting base. It avoids the barnyard funk some cheap ouds can have.
Is it Worth It?
Oud is Great is a solid budget alternative to Oud for Greatness. No, it's not a perfect match. It lacks the smoothness and depth of the original. However, it's a great way to scratch that Oud itch. If you're looking for a near-identical, luxurious experience, save up for the Initio. But if you want a good-smelling, affordable oud fragrance for everyday wear, this is a winner. But for value? Zimaya wins.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is surprisingly good. I get about 7 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first 2 hours. It becomes a skin scent after that. On clothes? Easily lasts 10+ hours. Decent performance point.
