Fatima Velvet Love opens with a saccharine pear accord, leaning heavily towards artificial pear candy rather than the fruit itself. A supporting citrus note attempts brightness, but ends up smelling like concentrated orange cleaner. The heart reveals a waxy orange blossom, struggling against a dominant, powdery iris. The promised ylang-ylang is a ghost, detectable only as a vaguely floral sweetness, more akin to sugared jasmine. The drydown is where this formulation diverges most noticeably. The vanilla is present, but muted, and the amber introduces a cloying, almost play-dough-like plasticity. The sandalwood attempts to provide grounding, but fails, leaving a sickly sweet, synthetic residue on the skin.
