Final Thoughts
Modest Une offers a very good, albeit slightly synthetic, impression of Sauvage. If you crave the Sauvage vibe without breaking the bank, this is a worthwhile option. However, those seeking the refined nuances and higher-quality ingredients of the original might be disappointed. For everyday wear and casual situations, Modest Une gets the job done, making it a solid value proposition.
Olfactory Experience
Modest Une by Afnan sets out to mimic Dior's Sauvage, and it gets respectably close. The opening blast of bergamot and pepper is reminiscent of Sauvage, though noticeably sharper, more synthetic. It lacks the smooth, natural zest of the Dior. As it settles, the Sichuan pepper and lavender become more prominent, a decent attempt, but the quality isn't quite there. The ambroxan base is the closest to the original. The labdanum adds a slight amber warmth, missing in Sauvage, creating a subtle, interesting difference. Overall, I'd say it's about 95% similar to Sauvage.
The Performance Stats
Longevity is pretty decent. I get about 6-7 hours on my skin, which is acceptable . Projection is moderate for the first hour or two, creating a noticeable scent bubble, before settling closer to the skin. Don't expect beast mode performance.
