How it Smells
Lamastat Oud opens with a blast of cardamom and pink pepper – spicy and immediately noticeable. I get a bit of that earthy cypriol, but it's fleeting. The heart is where this aims for Carved Oud. The cedar and patchouli are definitely present, giving it that woody backbone. The iris is dialed back compared to Thameen, making it less powdery, more masculine. The dry down is a warm blend of musk, sandalwood and amber. It's pleasant, but slightly synthetic around the edges. Comparing it to Carved Oud, I'd say it's 95% there. The Thameen has a smoother, higher quality feel overall and better iris integration. This leans a little rougher around the edges.
The Performance Stats
Not bad at all. Lamastat Oud projects decently for the first 2 hours, creating a nice scent bubble. After that, it settles closer to the skin. Longevity is solid, I get around 6-7 hours on skin, longer on clothes.
The Verdict
Lamastat Oud is a great daily driver. If you're craving that Carved Oud vibe without the hefty price tag, this is a worthwhile option. It’s a versatile scent, suitable for cooler weather, evenings, and even the office if applied with a light hand. If you're just looking for a good-smelling, woody-spicy fragrance that won't break the bank, grab this.
