The Scent Profile
Perlador jumps out the gate with a blast of cinnamon and something vaguely oud-ish. It's trying to be Red Tobacco, no doubt. The saffron note is there, but it's not as refined. Where Mancera's Red Tobacco feels smooth and blended, Perlador has a slight synthetic edge in the opening. As it settles, the patchouli and jasmine peek through, adding a touch of sweetness. The dry down is where it gets closer to the original. The tobacco note is definitely present, though a little drier, and the vanilla amber accord adds warmth. I'd say it's about 90% similar to Red Tobacco. It lacks the depth and richness of the original, but it's a solid attempt.
Projection Power
This is a beast. Seriously. It projects like crazy for the first 2-3 hours, easily filling a room. Longevity? Easily 8+ hours on skin, and days on clothes. This is nuclear. Maybe one spray under your shirt is the way to go if you are in an office.
Conclusion
Yes, it has a slightly synthetic opening, but the dry down is very similar. It's not a 1:1 clone, but difference, it's hard to complain. If Red Tobacco is a luxurious velvet jacket, Perlador is a decent corduroy one. Not quite as fancy, but it keeps you warm. Buy it if you want a bold, long-lasting tobacco scent without breaking the bank.
