B Rouge by Fragrance World aims for the Baccarat Rouge 540 profile. The opening blast of saffron and jasmine is surprisingly decent, but immediately reveals itself as a clear imitation. The expensive sparkle of the original is missing. Instead, there's a slightly sharp, synthetic edge. The heart leans heavily into amberwood – much more prominent here than in the original. This makes it woodier and less airy. As it dries down, the fir resin and cedar come through, softening the initial harshness, but lacking the nuanced ambergris found in MFK's masterpiece. Overall, I'd put it at around 87% similarity. It captures the general vibe, but the difference in quality is noticeable.

To Buy or Not to Buy?

Look, Baccarat Rouge 540 is expensive. If you crave that aroma but can't justify the cost, B Rouge is a passable alternative. Just understand that you're getting what you pay for. It’s a decent budget option. Someone brand new to the scent profile may not notice the cheaper elements. If you demand the highest quality, stick with MFK. If you just want a similar scent for everyday wear, B Rouge will do the trick.

Performance Reality Check

The longevity is respectable. I get about 6-7 hours on skin. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then settles closer to the body. Not bad point. It won’t fill a room, but people nearby will smell it.
