Barakkat Aqua Aevum aims for the breezy citrus elegance of Gentle Aquae Vitae, and it gets surprisingly close, maybe 83%. The opening is a blast of lemon and mandarin, but it lacks the refined sparkle of the MFK. There's a slight synthetic edge here, a tell-tale sign of its budget. The heart is where it deviates most. The orange blossom and ylang-ylang are present, but less nuanced, a bit louder and less smoothly blended. The drydown is a pleasant, woody vetiver, somewhat similar to the original, though lacking the depth.
