How it Smells
Brown Orchid Amethyst aims for Alien Goddess, and it gets respectably close. The initial blast of coconut water and bergamot is brighter and slightly sharper than the original's smoother opening. Jasmine is the star of the heart, but here it has a more indolic, almost bubblegum-ish sweetness compared to Mugler's creamier jasmine. The base is where it deviates most. The bourbon vanilla is present but not as refined. There's a cashmeran blanket that provides warmth, however this clone's vanilla leans slightly synthetic in comparison. Overall, I'd say it captures about 85% of the Alien Goddess DNA.
Bottom Line
Brown Orchid Amethyst is a solid contender. Yes, there's a hint of synthetic vanilla, but it's not a deal-breaker. If you MUST have the smoothest, most refined ingredients, stick with the original. However, for daily wear or layering, this clone offers excellent value.
Wear time & Sillage
Don't expect beast mode. Brown Orchid Amethyst projects moderately for the first hour, creating a nice scent bubble. Longevity is decent; I get around 5-6 hours on skin, pushing to 8 on clothes. It softens into a skin scent pretty quickly, so reapplication might be needed for all-day wear.
