Scent Breakdown
Clive Dorris X by Fragrance World is clearly gunning for Clive Christian's X Man. The opening is bright – pineapple and bergamot give it a juicy, almost effervescent feel. I get a decent dose of that rhubarb too, providing a tart counterpoint. The heart brings in the promised Iris, but it's not as buttery smooth as in the original. There's a bit of a synthetic edge here, and the paprika note is amped up a little, lending a spicy, almost peppery vibe. The drydown is where it most resembles the original – cedar, cinnamon, and amber create a warm, slightly sweet finish. I'd say it's about 90% close, missing some of the refinement and depth of the OG.
Performance Reality Check
the performance is solid. I get about 6-7 hours on skin, with decent projection for the first 2 hours. It sits closer to the skin after that, creating a subtle, pleasant scent bubble. Not beast mode, but definitely noticeable.
