Olfactory Experience
Eau de Spice Extreme kicks off with a blast of caraway that smells suspiciously like dill pickle brine, clashing intensely with a grating black pepper note. The saffron is barely present, thank goodness. As it settles, a saccharine bourbon vanilla emerges, fighting for dominance with a harshly synthetic cinnamon accord. This heart smells like cherry cough syrup spilled on a dusty spice rack. The promised tobacco base is there, but it's a thin, papery version, laced with a chemical lavender that smells like cheap air freshener. It deviates significantly from its inspiration; the refined warmth is replaced by a muddled, discordant mess.
How Long Does it Last?
On my skin, Eau de Spice Extreme lasts around 5-6 hours. The projection is initially quite strong, filling a room within the first hour, but quickly diminishes to a skin scent after about two. I tested this during a cold evening walk and found its projection struggled against even a slight breeze. It clings to clothing longer, but the plasticky drydown becomes even more pronounced.
Is it Worth It?
This fragrance is best suited for the dead of winter, but only in situations where you won't be in close proximity to others. Its aggressive opening and synthetic heart make it unsuitable for the office or formal events. Perhaps a bonfire night out, where its harshness will be masked by smoke. Use with extreme caution.
