Scent Breakdown

Emperor 2 bursts open with a candied pineapple, less refined than Aventus' signature smoky fruit. The bergamot and apple are present, but with a slightly synthetic sharpness. The heart attempts the birch-smoke effect, getting close (maybe 81% there), but lacks the nuanced woodiness of the original. Patchouli peeks through, a little earthier than you'd expect. The dry down smooths out into a musky vanilla with a hint of oakmoss. The vanilla here is more pronounced than in Aventus. It adds a touch of sweetness that some may prefer, others may find cloying. It's a decent rendition, but the cheaper ingredients show their hand in the opening.

How Long Does it Last?

Longevity is surprisingly good. Expect 6-8 hours on skin. Projection is moderate for the first 2 hours, then settles closer to the body. It won't fill a room, but creates a pleasant scent bubble.
