First Impressions & Dry Down
Fabulous Life opens with a medicinal lavender blast, like a cough drop melting on warm asphalt. The clary sage adds a slightly green, herbal counterpoint, but it fights to be heard over the prominent cherry accord. The heart introduces a muted leather note that smells more like vinyl car seats in the sun than supple Italian leather. The promised vanilla is present, but has a synthetic edge akin to vanilla-scented car air freshener. The dry down attempts to reconcile the disparate elements, with a noticeable tonka bean that lends a powdery sweetness. Cashmeran provides a slightly fuzzy texture, but the leather remains stubbornly artificial. It resembles the original, but it's a *photocopy* rather than a master print.
Conclusion
Fabulous Life is best suited for casual encounters or situations where you want a noticeable scent without investing too much. It is a suitable fragrance for a date night, however, its bold profile makes it better suited to outdoor venues. Its synthetic character makes it far too brash for intimate settings.
The Performance Stats
Longevity is surprisingly robust; I got around six hours on my skin. Projection is initially strong, radiating beyond arm's reach for the first hour, then receding to a skin scent. I wore it to an outdoor concert; it performed adequately but was not particularly captivating.
