Olfactory Experience
Fragrance World's "Invicto" blasts off with a bracing grapefruit and aquatic accord. The mandarin adds a touch of sweetness, almost candied, that wasn't as prominent in the original Invictus Aqua 2016. The heart brings forth the familiar bay leaf, but here it feels a little sharper, less rounded. The base attempts the signature ambergris and woods, but it leans slightly synthetic. About 85% close to the OG, this has a noticeable difference in its dry down, with a more aggressive woody accord.
Longevity & Projection
On my skin, Invicto projects moderately for the first hour, creating a pleasant, energetic bubble. After that, it settles closer to the skin, lasting about 5-6 hours in total. Not beast mode, but respectable for a clone. Reapplication is definitely needed for a full day's wear.
Is it Worth It?
Invicto captures the essence of the beach-ready, athletic vibe of Invictus Aqua 2016 without the hefty price tag. While it lacks some of the refinement and nuance of the original, it's a solid alternative for those seeking a fresh and invigorating scent on a budget. If you crave that summery, aquatic energy but find the original's cost prohibitive, this is a worthy contender. This is a great gym scent and daily summer beater.
