First Impressions & Dry Down
Jasper Rouge opens with a predictable blast. The black pepper is present, though slightly muted and synthetic. Cinnamon emerges quickly, providing a warm, spicy accord. It lacks the nuanced sweetness of the original Scandal Ruby. Tuberose dominates the heart; it's a creamy, almost bubblegum-like rendition. The geranium adds a slight green, metallic tinge that wasn’t as pronounced in Carolina Herrera’s version. The base features a noticeable sandalwood note, quite dry. Patchouli offers earthiness. Cedar provides a woody backbone. Compared to the original, Jasper Rouge is roughly 83% similar. It misses the refined smoothness and some of the red berry nuances present in Scandal Ruby.
Performance Reality Check
Longevity is moderate. I get about 5-6 hours on my skin. Projection is initially strong for the first hour, creating a noticeable scent bubble. After that, it settles closer to the skin. The dry down becomes a skin scent after about 3 hours.
Is it Worth It?
Jasper Rouge is a decent clone . However, be prepared for a slightly harsher, more synthetic opening. But for a daily wear, Jasper Rouge delivers a similar vibe . Recommended for those on a budget or as a "try before you buy" option.
