The Verdict
Just Aswad is a steal. It might not have the same level of sophistication, but it gets the job done. Grab Aswad and enjoy the compliments. It’s a solid choice for fall and winter evenings, or anytime you want a bold, masculine scent.
Scent Breakdown
Just Aswad throws a warm, spicy punch right off the bat. Think Christmas market meets barbershop. The nutmeg and cinnamon are definitely front and center, a bit amped up compared to Sauvage Elixir's smoother opening. The lavender emerges pretty quickly, adding a clean, herbal counterpoint to the spice. It dries down to a sweet, slightly smoky base of licorice and sandalwood, with a noticeable amber warmth. It gets pretty close to Elixir, maybe 80-84% there. The main difference is that Aswad has a slightly rougher, more synthetic edge, especially in the opening. The spices are bolder, less refined than the original.
The Performance Stats
This stuff projects. Seriously. Two sprays are probably enough for most situations. Longevity is impressive too. I get a solid 8+ hours on my skin, easily pushing into the next day on clothes. It leaves a nice scent trail without being obnoxious – unless you overspray.
