The Verdict
If you crave the Jazz Club vibe but balk at the price tag, Olfactory Music Fest is a worthwhile compromise. Yes, it has synthetic edges. Yes, it lacks the nuance of the original. But it delivers a satisfyingly similar experience. If Jazz Club is a fine aged rum, this is a decent spiced rum. Perfect for casual wear and those on a budget. Is the original ten times better? No. Twice as good? Maybe. But
Notes & Nuances
Olfactory Music Fest aims for Jazz Club, and hits a solid 88% mark. The opening is similar: a burst of pink pepper and citrus, though the lemon here is noticeably sharper, bordering on cleaning product for a few minutes. The heart tries hard with that rum and vetiver combo. It’s boozy, woody, but lacks the smooth, almost caramelised depth of Jazz Club’s rum accord. The drydown is where the gap widens. The tobacco leaf and vanilla are present, but feel more synthetic and less refined. It’s a good effort, but the cheaper ingredients reveal themselves with time.
Longevity & Projection
Longevity is surprisingly decent. I get about 5-6 hours on skin, which is respectable . Projection is moderate, a nice personal bubble for the first hour or two, then it sits closer to the skin. Don't expect beast mode, this is a "wear it for yourself" fragrance.
