First Impressions & Dry Down

Picky Rose bursts open with a surprisingly accurate Sichuan pepper zing – a genuine tongue-tickling tingle, not just generic spice. The turmeric adds an earthy undercurrent, slightly dampening the initial sharpness. As it settles, the rose trio emerges, but not as a photorealistic bloom. Instead, it's a jammy rose preserve, leaning heavily on the Bulgarian, which brings a syrupy sweetness. The May rose is almost imperceptible to my nose, contributing only a subtle floral whisper. Where it noticeably diverges from the original is the base. The patchouli feels stripped of its darker, camphoraceous elements, presenting a cleaner, almost soapy facet. The tonka bean adds a powdery sweetness, resulting in a slightly gourmand, almost frosting-like, finish.

Wear time & Sillage

On my skin, Picky Rose lasts a solid six hours. Projection is moderate for the first two hours, extending to about an arm's length. After that, it becomes more of a skin scent, detectable in close encounters. I wore it during a full workday and while running errands, and it held up surprisingly well in both environments.
