Moonlit Night opens with a promisingly bitter grapefruit, laced with a freshly crushed coriander seed note, yet a concerning synthetic blast of something akin to lime cleaner lurks underneath. The basil is more of a whisper than a declaration. As it settles, the cardamom and ginger emerge, but they lack the refined nuance of the inspiration; instead, they are simplified, almost candied, with a jarringly green, unripe banana element. The base leans heavily on a cloying, amber accord and a rough-hewn cedar that lacks depth and smells papery. The tobacco is present, but it's akin to unburnt pipe tobacco left in a humid room – musty and stale. It doesn’t possess the smooth, cured character one would expect. Overall, it aims for the same destination but misses the mark, landing instead in a generic, slightly off-kilter aromatic amber territory.

Final Thoughts

If Moonlit Night were a character, it would be the well-meaning but ultimately awkward guy at the party trying too hard to be suave. He spills his drink, tells a slightly inappropriate joke, and tries to recover with a charming smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes.

Longevity is moderate, clocking in at around 5 hours. Projection is initially strong, extending a noticeable arm’s length for the first hour, then quickly retracting to a skin scent. It performed best in cool, indoor environments; warmer temperatures exacerbated the synthetic edge, making it somewhat unpleasant.
