The Verdict
If you love the Rouge Smoking vibe but don't want to drop serious cash, this is a worthy alternative. It's not a 1:1 dupe, the original has more depth. But it's a great daily wear. Perfect for cooler days or evenings out. If you want that 85% extra quality and complexity, splash out for the real deal. But for everyday wear? Francique 107.9 works just fine. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, sweet, and slightly spicy scent.
First Impressions & Dry Down
Francique 107.9 throws a sweet cherry and slight pepper punch right away. It's trying to mimic Rouge Smoking, and gets pretty close, maybe 85%. The opening is a bit more synthetic than the BDK, a little plasticky, but it calms down quick. The heart is where it shines; that vanilla and orange blossom combo is smooth, almost powdery. Dries down to a cozy tonka and musk. The original has a richer, deeper feel overall. This one is brighter, stays a little lighter.
Performance Reality Check
This isn't beast mode, but it's solid. I got about 6 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first hour. It becomes a skin scent after 3. Good for an office scent if you don't overspray. Two sprays are plenty.
