Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
Bottom Line
Paradox makes an excellent daily wear during the cooler months. It's sophisticated enough for the office, yet comfortable enough for casual outings. Think autumn coffee dates, or weekend errands. It's a smooth and inviting fragrance that will garner compliments without being overpowering.
The Scent Profile
Paradox kicks off with a lively zest of bergamot and neroli, not unlike sunshine on citrus groves. The pepper is definitely there, a bright, crackling counterpoint. Where it veers from its inspiration is in the heart: the cognac note feels a little thinner, leaning more toward a generic amber than a rich, boozy spirit. The tobacco is present, but more like dried pipe tobacco rather than the sweet, honeyed variety. As it dries down, the vanilla comes forward, supported by the benzoin and a subtle patchouli. It’s a pleasant, if somewhat simplified, evolution of the original composition.
How Long Does it Last?
On my skin, Paradox lasts a solid 6-7 hours. Projection is moderate, extending about an arm's length for the first couple of hours before settling closer to the skin. I wore it through a workday in a climate-controlled office, and also for an evening out. It performed consistently well in both scenarios.
