The drydown, a mix of vetiver, musk, and amber, is pleasant enough, but it’s a simplified, less nuanced version. I'd say it captures about 85% of the original’s DNA. The key differences are in the quality of ingredients; Amber Linen lacks that smooth blending that Bal d’Afrique delivers.

Don't expect beast mode performance. Amber Linen projects moderately for the first hour, leaving a subtle scent bubble. After that, it quickly fades into a skin scent. Longevity is around 3-4 hours on my skin. It’s a light and airy fragrance, so you'll need to reapply if you want it to last through the day.
