The heart struggles to replicate the sophisticated iris accord; here, it manifests as a slightly powdery, synthetic violet candy note, rather than the smooth, buttery orris root expected. Geranium peeks through, a vegetal, slightly metallic facet, while the mate adds a grassy, almost hay-like undertone that diverts from the clean profile of the original. The drydown leans heavily on cedar, presenting a pencil shavings quality, coupled with a murky patchouli that lacks definition. A synthetic amber rounds it out, giving a slightly plasticky finish that lingers. The leather accord, promised in the name, is nearly undetectable, a faint suede impression at best.
