Our objective metric for performance per dollar.
Olfactory Experience
Regal White kicks off with a blast of juicy mandarin, quickly overtaken by an acrid pink pepper note that clashes with the grapefruit. It’s a discordant opening; think cleaning supplies trying to mask stale cigarette smoke. The heart attempts to smooth things over with incense, but it’s more of an ashy cardboard than true frankincense. The tobacco is whisper-thin, merely a suggestion of dried leaves. The drydown is where the similarities to I by Widian fade into a distant memory. Gone is the nuanced oud; instead, we are left with a synthetic leather accord reminiscent of cheap car upholstery mingled with a cloying amber sweetness.
The Verdict
Regal White is a fall and winter fragrance best suited for casual settings, maybe a quick trip to the grocery store. The harsh opening and synthetic drydown make it hard to recommend for any situation where you want to make a positive impression.
Wear time & Sillage
Longevity is moderate, clocking in at around 5 hours on skin. Projection is initially strong, pushing out past arm's length for the first hour, before settling closer to the body. I wore this to a casual work meeting, and it felt out of place and somewhat overpowering.
