S4nd4lwood opens with a surprising vegetal sweetness. The violet accord is prominent, more like sugared parma violets than fresh, dewy greens. There's a whisper of cardamom, but it's quickly overtaken by the iris and ambrox combination, creating a powdery, almost chalky effect. It lacks the crisp cucumber freshness that defines the original. The cedarwood arrives soon after, lending a dry, pencil shaving facet. The leather emerges in the base, a suede-like quality that's muted and slightly synthetic, lacking the authentic tang.
