Scent Breakdown

Tabac Treasure opens with a boisterous cough drop accord – that familiar cherry medicine mixed with pipe tobacco. The initial spice leans towards cinnamon potpourri rather than anything sharply piquant. As it settles, the tonka bean emerges, lending a powdery sweetness reminiscent of marzipan. The vanilla is restrained, preventing the composition from becoming cloying. The drydown introduces dried fruits that evoke plum pudding, although a faintly synthetic, almost plasticky, veneer lingers alongside generic woody notes; a far cry from the plushness one expects.

Longevity & Projection

On my skin, Tabac Treasure lasts a respectable six hours, softening considerably after the three-hour mark. Projection is moderate – detectable within an arm's length for the first hour, then gradually receding to a skin scent. I tested this in an air-conditioned office and found it didn’t overwhelm the space, although a single spray was potent enough for an evening out.

To Buy or Not to Buy?

This fragrance evokes images of a quiet evening spent in a wood-paneled library, perhaps with a snifter of brandy and a well-worn book. Best suited for the colder months – autumn and winter, specifically – and ideal for intimate gatherings, sophisticated dates, or moments of quiet reflection. A little too heavy for daytime wear, unless you're deliberately curating a darkly alluring persona.
