To Buy or Not to Buy?
Tropical Boost is a great option. It captures the essence of Perfect Intense without breaking the bank. If you love the original but can't justify the cost, or just want a casual, everyday version, this is worth considering. It smells good, it's cheap.
Olfactory Experience
Tropical Boost by Zara aims for Marc Jacobs Perfect Intense, and gets respectably close. The opening is a blast of narcissus and jasmine, but lacks the creaminess of the original. It's brighter, almost sharp. The almond in the heart is definitely there, but leans more marzipan than a true almond extract. It's missing the fluffy, cashmere feel of Perfect Intense. The drydown offers a decent sandalwood, though it's a little less rounded and smooth, more synthetic smelling than what you'd find in the original. It's about 84% there, a solid effort overall .
The Performance Stats
This is where the difference in price becomes obvious. Tropical Boost lasts around 4-5 hours on my skin, maybe a bit longer on clothes. Projection is moderate for the first hour, then it settles closer to the skin. It's not a room-filler by any means. Perfect Intense gives you significantly more longevity and presence.
