Olfactory Experience
Okay, Wednesday – I'm Most Grateful is Zara's attempt at Byredo's Mojave Ghost, and it gets pretty close. The opening has that same fruity, slightly powdery vibe thanks to the sapodilla and ambrette. It's not quite as smooth as Mojave Ghost; there's a bit of a synthetic edge here. The heart is where it shines, with magnolia and violet adding a soft floral touch. I do miss the airy quality of the original. The drydown features sandalwood and ambergris, giving it a woody, musky finish. It's not a carbon copy, maybe 81% there. It lacks the refined touch of Mojave Ghost, but it's definitely recognizable.
Longevity & Projection
For a Zara fragrance, the performance is decent. I get about 5-6 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first hour. It sits closer to the skin after that. It's not a beast mode fragrance, but it's noticeable enough. You'll probably need to reapply during the day if you want it to last.
The Verdict
It captures the essence of the original . It's perfect for everyday wear, especially in the spring or fall. This Zara clone is a great daily driver that won't break the bank. It's a safe blind buy if you enjoy subtle, woody-floral scents.
